May 28, 2017 - Double Duty Motorsports Attend Show-Me 100 Weekend at Lucas Oil Speedway
Making the first start of the season with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS), John and Justin Duty headed to I-80 Speedway (Greenwood, Nebraska) on Tuesday night for the inaugural Go 50. With 32 cars on hand, John logged a 7th place outing in his heat while Justin placed 7th in his sending them both into the B-Main. Transferring the Top 3 into the show, John edged his spot into the $10,000 A-Main with a 3rd place outing but Justin fell one position short of the 50-lapper with a 4th place finish. Starting in 21st, John Duty held his spot for the entire distance posting a 21st place finish.

Two nights later Double Duty Motorsports was back in action at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Missouri) for the LOLMDS sanctioned Show-Me 100 weekend. In a stout field of 67 Super Late Models for the Cowboy Classic, Justin came up one spot short of a transfer position in his heat with a 4th place finish. John recorded a 10th place finish in his heat race giving them both one last shot at the opening night feature with a B-Main appearance. Sending the Top 2, Justin slipped back to a 13th place outing while John gained three positions to place 10th but was short of a transfer spot.

Returning on Friday evening for the Tribute to Don & Billie Gibson, Justin grabbed the 3rd and final transfer spot in his heat race locking him into the final $6,000-to-win preliminary feature. John came one spot short of a transfer position in his heat with a 4th place outing. Starting on the front row of his B-Main, John secured his spot with a 2nd place finish behind Mason Zeigler. With 40-laps to work their way to the front, Justin Duty slipped back to a 22nd place finish while John logged a 24th place outing.

With severe weather in the area postponing Saturday’s 25th annual Show-Me 100 to Sunday afternoon, both Double Duty Motorsports pilots had another chance at the $30,000-to-win finale with a B-Main appearance. Transferring the Top 2, Justin placed 8th while John fell two positions short with a 4th place finish. Earning one final shot at the A-Main, Justin and John transferred into the Midwest Sheet Metal Show-Me Challenge. Sending only the race winner into the feature, John dropped back to a 12th place finish while Justin came in 17th.
